The customized RT-Batch workflows enable automated batch processing in scan-free periods (e.g. overnight, weekends, longer scanning breaks etc.). Within this a customized set of system

If you ask librarians or archivists about the value of the cultural assets with which they are entrusted, you nearly always get the same answer: “Unique objects of the highest intrinsic value”. The spectacular sums which are sometimes paid for precious items such as the mediaeval Gospels of Henry the Lion confirm this opinion. The technical requirements specified for the digital and analogue conservation of these documents are set accordingly high.
The new Omniscan OS 12 scanning software meets all these requirements. This software for the first time uses all the advantages of the 64-bit architecture and runs on the XP64 and Vista64 operating systems. Fast and reliable handling of large amounts of data, as it is
required for high resolution scanning of color documents, is standard procedure for OS 12.
A new and unique facility with OS 12 is simultaneous image editing during the scanningprocess. Scanning, editing and file-saving run inparallel threads. The parameters set for image processing (e.g. for 3D book-fold distortion correction) are transferred one-toone to the second image. And this is achieved without any loss of speed when continuing with work on the screen. Unproductive waiting times
are finally a thing of the past. The Perfect Book option makes it possible to scan bound volumes without any distortion. The OS 12 scanning software is thus breaking into new technological dimensions in digitization.
